Measurement backaction in dispersive measurement of superconducting qubits shortens qubit lifetime through interaction between two-level systems (TLS) and the driver-renormalized qubit spectrum. The study investigates qubit lifetime degradation during measurement both theoretically and experimentally, demonstrating that this effect can be significantly reduced through careful selection of the measurement drive frequency.
