About Us
Established under the coordination of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB), the Türkiye Quantum Platform operates to raise national awareness of quantum technologies, develop capabilities, and strengthen the domestic quantum ecosystem.
In 2020, SSB Department of R&D and Technology Management launched the Quantum Technologies Development Program and prepared the Quantum Technology Roadmap. Through the Quantum Focus Technology Network (OTAĞ) activities, initiated in 2024 and completed in 2025, the existing Roadmap was updated and the Quantum OTAĞ Final Report was produced. The report has been published on the SSB R&D Portal. Activities relating to the Türkiye Quantum Platform are carried out under this Program, on the principle of making the fullest possible use of existing domestic infrastructure, workforce, and knowledge.
The platform consolidates ecosystem announcements and content in a single hub and ensures inter-institutional visibility; it also aims to operate in the areas of industry–academia–research coordination, education programs, international collaborations, entrepreneurship and commercialization, and the shared use of critical infrastructure.
National capabilities are being developed in quantum computing, sensing, and communication.
Quantum Computing
A computing approach that uses quantum phenomena such as superposition and entanglement to solve certain classes of problems beyond the practical efficiency of classical computers.
Quantum Sensing
Technologies such as atomic clocks, gravimeters, magnetometers, and quantum imaging that use quantum effects to push measurement sensitivity beyond the classical standard quantum limit.
Quantum Communication
A technology area that bases information security on physical principles rather than computational hardness, including complementary layers such as QKD and post-quantum cryptography.

Chicago State University Establishes Quantum Education, Science and Technology Center (CQuEST)
Chicago State University, in collaboration with Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park, officially opened CQuEST, an education and research center in Quantum Information Science and Engineering (QISE). The center offers certificate and minor programs in quantum and semiconductor fields, providing NSF-funded Mic2ExL internships and collaboration opportunities with national laboratories.
AnnouncementSwitzerland's First IBM Quantum System Two to Be Installed at ETH Zurich
IBM and Lockheed Martin have established a quantum innovation center at ETH Zurich that will house Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two; the system is expected to become operational at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre in Lugano by the end of 2026. Universities, startups, and companies in Switzerland will gain quantum access for research in chemistry, materials science, optimization, and financial services.
